New Vehicle Warranty T&C's
Vauxhall New Vehicle Warranty
This warranty provided by the manufacturer does not adversely affect the statutory rights of the purchaser against the seller and gives remedies in addition to those against the seller under the contract of sale.
Claims by the purchaser, in particular for a defect on a vehicle, against the selling Vauxhall Distributor, remain unaffected by the warranty.
1. Warranty for New Vauxhall Vehicles
1.1. General warranty
Vauxhall Motors Ltd. (hereinafter called “Vauxhall”) undertakes that each new motor vehicle including all accessories supplied thereon by Vauxhall as original equipment will be free from defect in material or workmanship according to the state of the art under normal use and service for the periods and mileage limits as stated below:
12 months, without limitation of mileage, from the date the vehicle is delivered to the original purchaser by the Authorised distributor.
In addition, the warranty will run from the 13th month to the 36th month after the delivery date of the vehicle or until the new vehicle has been driven 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. For Movano & Vivaro commercial vehicles the warranty will run from the 13th month to the 36th month after the delivery date of the vehicle or until the new vehicle has been driven 100,000 miles (60,000 for Vivaro Life), whichever comes first. This Schedule may be subject to periodic change. The unexpired part of the warranty is transferrable to a second owner or subsequent owner(s) without reference to Vauxhall. All warranty claims will expire at the end of the warranty period. For a warranty issue reported within the warranty period but not repaired by its expiry, the warranty period is extended until repair of this issue. If the issue could not be demonstrated or the presence of the issue or its repair is disputed, the warranty expires two months after the last repair or declaration by the Vauxhall Authorised Repairer or Vauxhall that the fault has been eliminated or no fault is present. An interruption or restart of the warranty period by repair or checking of the issue or negotiations on circumstances justifying the claim is excluded. Promises by third parties of any type which deviate in any way from the scope and conditions of warranty described here are not binding on Vauxhall.
1.2. Electrical vehicle specific warranty
Vauxhall will warrant the high voltage battery for eight years or 100 000 miles, whichever comes first, from the warranty start date of the vehicle. Hybrids are included. This warranty is in addition to the express conditions and warranties of the general warranty.
High voltage battery warranty policy
Like all batteries, the amount of energy that the high voltage battery can store will decrease with time and kilometers driven. Depending on the use, the battery may degrade as little as 10% within the first three years to as much as 30% of capacity over the remaining warranty period. A Vauxhall Authorised Repairer will determine if the battery energy capacity (kWh storage) is within the proper limit, given the age and mileage of the vehicle. Typical tests can take up to 24 hours. If possible, components will be repaired or replaced, and the original battery will be returned to the vehicle. If necessary, the high voltage battery will be replaced with either a new or factory reconditioned high voltage battery with an energy capacity (kWh storage) level at or above that of the original battery prior to the failure. Your high voltage battery warranty replacement may not return your vehicle as an „as new“ condition, but will make it fully operational appropriate to its age and mileage.
2. Scope of the Warranty:
1. The warranty applies exclusively to free of charge repair of the vehicle by a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer, i.e. Vauxhall's obligations under this warranty are limited to repairing or replacing at its option any parts by a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer. No further claims can be made on the basis of the warranty. Replaced parts become the property of Vauxhall.
2 .For the parts fitted during a repair, until expiry of the warranty period according to Section 1, the same warranty is given as for the motor vehicle, i.e. the warranty is not extended by the repair or replacement of parts even for the parts rectified or replaced. 3.Warranty claims can only be made on presentation of the service and warranty booklet with confirmed services and the international warranty certificate completed and signed by the supplying.
4.Vauxhall reserves the right to appoint its own engineer to inspect the vehicle prior to any repair or replacement of parts covered.
