Vauxhall Reveals Special Edition Astra Griffin

Vauxhall Unveils Astra Griffin Special Edition with Enhanced Features and Lower Prices

Vauxhall has launched the Astra Griffin, a new special edition available in both electric and petrol versions. This model aims to make Vauxhall’s electric vehicles more accessible by offering a higher specification at a reduced price point.

The Astra Griffin is available as either a Hatchback or Sports Tourer Electric, both featuring an improved specification over the Design trim. Key upgrades include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, and adaptive cruise control. The exterior is enhanced with tinted rear windows and, on the Sports Tourer, roof rails. Inside, the driver’s seat is ergonomically certified by AGR, and the vehicle is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, alongside a 10-inch digital instrument cluster.

The Astra Electric Griffin comes with a 54kWh battery, delivering up to 258 miles of range (WLTP), and can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes on a 100kW rapid DC charger. Priced from £34,995, it offers a saving of £2,800 compared to the Design trim. The petrol version, featuring a 1.2-litre 130PS engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, starts at £24,795, reducing the entry point to the Astra range by £2,775.

Vauxhall is also offering a five-year PCP finance plan that ensures monthly payment parity between the electric and petrol versions of the Astra Griffin, with payments starting at around £399 per month with a £2,000 deposit.

Orders for the Astra Griffin, Astra Electric Griffin, and Astra Sports Tourer Electric Griffin are now open, with the first electric models set to be delivered from August and the petrol version from November. This launch follows the success of other special editions, such as the Corsa Electric YES Edition and Mokka Electric Griffin, as Vauxhall continues to expand its electric vehicle lineup. By the end of 2024, Vauxhall plans to offer a fully electric version of every car and van in its range.
