Citroen Presents C5 Aircross Concept: The Promise Of A Family Lounge Suv With Sharp Design
Citroën’s C5 Aircross Concept is a powerful SUV that represents the brand’s ambitious vision for the future, following the C3 Aircross release last June. Built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, this concept is a multi-energy vehicle designed to balance modernity, functionality, and family-focused features. This forward-thinking SUV is shaped for efficiency, maximising interior space and aerodynamics while cutting unnecessary design elements to focus on a clean, modern look. At 4.65 metres in length and 1.66 metres in height, the C5 Aircross Concept combines a spacious cabin with optimised aerodynamics to create a uniquely comfortable ride, adding an estimated 30 km in electric range over similar models.
The SUV’s sculpted, muscular build stands out in a crowded market, with streamlined front and rear profiles that exude both strength and fluidity. A striking three-point light signature on the front adds to its bold stance, while Citroën’s unique Light Wing design is integrated into the tail lights to streamline airflow, optimising performance. The vehicle's silhouette features widened tracks and sculpted shoulder lines for added road presence. Vertical design cues in the rear, coupled with integrated colour accents on the front doors, highlight Citroën’s latest design language, recalling elements from the C3 and C3 Aircross.
The Citroën C5 Aircross Concept is purposefully aerodynamically designed. Key features include a sloping roof, curved cabin elements, and vented rear quarter panels that echo cooling designs found in technology sectors. The Light Wing tail lights serve a dual purpose, enhancing both design and aerodynamic efficiency. They feature wing-like fins that help to reduce drag and boost range by channelling airflow effectively. Innovative design techniques minimise drag, including slight recesses along the vehicle’s length and rear roof hollows, all contributing to the car’s sleek aerodynamic profile.
Inside, the C5 Aircross Concept is equipped for luxury and connectivity. Built with Citroën’s wellness-focused philosophy, it will offer a relaxing lounge-inspired atmosphere for up to five passengers. Featuring the latest in connectivity and infotainment, the concept is designed to support varied uses, whether as an efficient commuter or a spacious family vehicle. The STLA platform ensures seamless integration of driving assistance systems, advanced connectivity, and a spacious interior. Its flexible structure supports hybrid, combustion, and electric power options, positioning it as a versatile solution for modern consumers.
