Apprentice First Line Support - Greenhous Group, High Ercall


Hours: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday, i.e. 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £10,296.00 per annum


A new opportunity has arisen to join the business as an Apprentice First Line IT Support at our Greenhous Head Office in Osbaston, Shropshire. You will provide first line support for Group employees who experience technical issues with IT such as forgotten passwords, viruses or email issues and logging all requests onto the Greenhous helpdesk system.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Answer Helpdesk Phone and log all IT requests:
    • Triage jobs in the helpdesk systems, making sure they are logged correctly.
    • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone or electronically.
    • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
    • Track and route problems, requests and document resolutions.
    • Provide first line fixes for common network, application and communication issues.
  • Admin duties:
    • Monitor IT stock and recharge items accordingly.
    • Keep inventory of licences, software and hardware up to date and accurate.
    • Produce monthly reports on changes to stock and inventory.
    • Help with the creation of monthly Helpdesk reports.
  • Liaise with third parties and suppliers.


What we need from you:

  • Strong computer skills, with an interest in developing a career in IT.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident communicator with polite telephone manner.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • A GCSE ICT grade would be preferable.
